  1. Premium Mobile Laboratory Tables

APMG’s Premium range of mobile lab tables is available in 5 lengths, widths, and heights and is a popular component of university and commercial labs. With heavy-duty castors, these tables bring an added level of flexibility to your lab environment.

They are ideal as a stand-alone table, or for perimeter benching which can be moved if workflows change. Add them to your perimeter benches for a peninsular effect, use them as a lab desk – there’s no end to their versatility.

Premium mobile lab tables come with heavy-duty polyurethane and nylon castors. They run on a quality ball-bearing system for excellent rolling performance, and the front two have a foot-operated locking mechanism to secure the table once in position.

For the Premium lab tables, we use extra-strong 38mm x 38mm x 1.6mm ERW steel box sections. All the external welds are ground and polished before powder coating for a sleek, professional finish.

Our Premium mobile lab tables have a load-bearing capacity of 300kg, evenly distributed. They are braced for stability – we don’t sell rocking tables!

The 16mm Trespa® worktop is carefully machined with chamfered edges and then polished. It overhangs the frame by 20mm. The generous curved radius corner of 10mm ensures no sharp corners to damage walls, equipment, or people!

Our lab table range has been designed and manufactured in-house by our experienced craftspeople, so you can trust that our lab tables will stand the test of time.

FAQs

What’s the difference between the Premium Lab Table, the Heavy Duty Lab Table and the Standard Lab Table?

All table ranges are designed to withstand the demands of commercial laboratories and schools, offering robust and reliable performance.

The Standard Lab Table is ideal for general use, handling typical laboratory tasks effectively.

The Heavy Duty Lab Table is built for more intensive applications. It features a heavy-duty frame that supports higher loading capacities making it better suited for handling heavy equipment

The Premium Mobile Lab Table is our tough mobile range. It has the enhanced features of our Heavy Duty lab table, but with the addition of either heavy duty or standard castors to offer location flexibility.

Why is the Trespa® TopLab® PLUS ALIGN table worktop more expensive than the Trespa® TopLab®BASE one?

Trespa® TopLab® PLUS ALIGN is engineered for demanding environments requiring high chemical resistance, antibacterial properties, and durability. Its Electron Beam Curing (EBC) technology makes it non-porous and resistant to scratches, stains, and heat, ideal for sterile and regulated labs.

In contrast, TopLab® BASE is a cost-effective option for less demanding spaces, offering general durability but without the advanced resistance and certifications of PLUS ALIGN. The premium price of PLUS ALIGN reflects its superior performance and longer lifespan in harsh conditions.

For more information, see our Trespa® datasheet

How much adjustment is there in the table feet if the floor isn’t level?

Our Heavy Duty Static Table has tilting feet which can be adjusted by up to 37.5mm. The Standard Lab Table has rigid feet which can be adjusted by up to 37.5mm.

Can you fit cupboards under the tables?

The APMG cupboards from our e-commerce range shown on this site fit beneath tables that are 900mm high and above. If the cupboards are from another manufacturer, please check the clearance chart in the technical specification or ask our friendly sales team if still not sure.

Note that the space available for cupboards is less than the length of the table. For standard tables, the space available is 100mm less than the length; for Heavy Duty tables it is 130mm less; and for Premium Mobile tables, it is 170mm less.

Can you fit appliances like fridges under the tables?

Our 925mm and 950mm height options with widths of 700mm or more accommodate a typical under-worktop fridge or white good. Always check the clearance chart in the technical specification or ask our friendly sales team if still not sure.

Can you supply tables with a small upstand attached to the rear edge?

Yes, we can! Just call 0161 799 2200 or email sales@apmg.co.uk and we’ll arrange it for you. Upstands are typically 50mm tall and the additional cost will depend on the length required.

Will the table fit through a single door?

It depends on the size of the table and the size of the door opening. All our table frames are fully welded for strength and cannot be dismantled. Please be careful to check that the access route is suitable, especially when considering larger tables.

Worktops

Choosing a worktop material that’s suitable for your application is vital. We use 16mm Trespa® solid grade laminate for our tables because it’s resilient and hard-wearing – we’re not offering MDF or chipboard for this purpose as we just don’t think it’s suitable for a lab environment.

Because we believe in attention to detail, all our Trespa® worktop edges are chamfered and polished to create a smooth, high-quality bevelled edge to the surface. We also insist on a radius corner for safety and comfort – we’re keeping bruises to a minimum!

We offer two types of Trespa worktop: Trespa® TopLab® BASE, and Trespa® TopLab® PLUS ALIGN.

Trespa® TopLab® BASE

With its hard wearing surface, Trespa® TopLab® BASE is a popular choice for sectors such as education, physical laboratories and institutions, where durability and wear resistance are paramount.

APMG recommends TopLab®BASE for laboratory bench surfacing where impact resistance is important and aggressive chemicals are not in use.

This heavy-duty surface is ideal where severe use and frequent cleaning is anticipated as the surface is not adversely affected by moisture. It performs well in commercial laboratories, and its scratch resistance makes it particularly suited to schools, with the exception of A Level Chemistry laboratories.

  • Greater performance with durability and impact resistance
  • Scratch and wear resistance
  • High dimensional stability
  • Easy to clean
  • Suitable for contact with food

Trespa® TopLab® PLUS ALIGN

For harsh laboratory environments which require higher chemical resistance, APMG recommends Trespa® TopLab®PLUS ALIGN. PLUS ALIGN is a new, more sustainable worktop material which combines the reliability and performance of TopLab® PLUS with a bio-based core. It has been tested with over 100 chemical agents and disinfectants.

Specifically, this material is suitable for university and A Level and GCSE Chemistry labs, and for commercial laboratories, including chemical, physical, and analytical labs.

It offers superior performance: inherent antibacterial properties, high impact and scratch resistance, and it withstands most aggressive chemicals and cleaning agents.

  • Excellent resistance to most aggressive chemicals and cleaning agents
  • Excellent hygiene performance being suitable to most disinfectants on the market
  • Greater performance with durability and impact resistance
  • Scratch and wear resistance
  • High dimensional stability
  • Easy to clean
  • Suitable for contact with food

Castors

Our Premium Mobile Lab Table is fully mobile with the enhanced feature of using castors to offer location flexibility. The Premium Mobile Lab table comes with an option of two different sets of castors;

Heavy Duty Castor

80mm red polyurethane tyre / nylon centre wheel, pressed steel swivel castor, and pressed steel swivel and brake castor.

Fitted with a red polyurethane wheel on a nylon centre, this heavy-duty castor runs on a quality ball-bearing system for excellent rolling performance. The polyurethane wheels are durable, have a long lifespan, and offer high load-bearing capacity and excellent compression set.

Standard Smooth-Rolling Castor

75mm grey thermoplastic wheel, pressed steel swivel castor, and pressed steel swivel and brake castor. The brake castor has a total stop brake that brakes both the swivel action and the wheel.

This castor runs on a quality ball bearing to offer excellent rolling performance and is non-marking and gentle on floors. Our grey thermoplastic castors ensure our mobile lab tables are easy to relocate – even when fully loaded!

Powder Coating

We offer polyester & epoxy polyester powder coating for the table frames. Polyester coatings are strong, long-lasting and provide flexibility and wearability. They are UV resistant to prevent yellowing. Epoxy polyester powders come with the same benefits as above but with greater resilience to chemicals.

We also offer a choice of four of the most popular colours- white, light grey, dark grey, and black. White is available in both a smooth and a textured finish, all the other colours are textured.

White (Smooth & Textured Finish) RAL 9003; Light Grey (Textured Finish) RAL 7035; Dark Grey (Textured Finish) RAL 7012; Black (Textured Finish) RAL 9011.
