Fuchs Lubricants

Our client, Fuchs Lubricants (UK) plc, needed a new lab but couldn’t fully vacate the space. Because APMG designs and manufactures in-house, its planned manufacture and phased laboratory installation solution allowed our client to keep on top of its workload with minimum disruption. And the end result – a hard-wearing, good-looking new lab designed to accommodate changing workflows for our customer.

Working Smart for New Lab Completion

Our client was clear – product development work couldn’t be interrupted and there was no alternative location for its lab specialists to continue their work.

The APMG team had the solution to this challenge. We took a flexible approach to ensure as little inconvenience as possible to the lab technical team.

APMG’s fitted lab furniture is all manufactured in-house in its Manchester factory. Being in control of production schedules means that project requirements can be accommodated to suit any program.

The project to install the new lab was divided into two phases.

The New Lab Phasing

The full lab was decanted into just one half of the space. APMG flexed production, and deliveries to site were made on a ‘Just in Time’ basis due to limited storage space.

Our efficient, time-served installation team set to work and professionally fitted Phase One of the project.

The team respected the working environment of the scientists and operated quickly and effectively to accomplish a successful build.

The process was then repeated for Phase Two.

The New Lab Furniture

APMG’s technical design team meticulously created the new lab to deal with the specialist liquids being processed. Tough Trespa® TopLab® worktops were installed.

Mobile cupboard units beneath the fixed lab benching added an element of flexibility to the work stations. And, of course, the execution of the project was completed on time, to brief and to budget.

The result: another delighted client with a fully fit-for-purpose workspace and a very happy lab team.
