Bespoke white BI-Series fans leave for Egypt

By Louise Barnes

APMG Plastics has dispatched another consignment of tailor-made fans bound for the Middle East. The bespoke BI-Series backward inclined plastic centrifugal fans have been specially designed to meet our client’s challenging specification.

The robust, cost-effective BI-Series backward inclined plastic centrifugal fans have been adapted to deal with the rigours of the extreme temperatures they will be subjected to when installed on a roof in Egypt. The GRP (glass fibre reinforced plastic) coating has a double advantage: the white pigment reflects the heat, protecting the fan from the hot environment; the coating itself provides a shatterproof layer to the fan case.

“We recommend a GRP coating for fans that are running fast under high pressure,” explains Peter Royse, Plastics Division Manager for APMG. “In the unlikely event, a fan fails the fan case is reinforced by the GRP and is more able to contain any breakages.

“An added feature of this process is our ability to tint the GRP to any RAL colour. White is popular for hot countries and we also find this facility useful for clients who wish to colour match fans and ductwork to the brickwork on older and listed buildings.”

APMG Plastics also designs, manufactures and installs an extensive range of ductwork and vent fittings to complement our range of corrosion-resistant extract fans. All pipework is manufactured to meet HVAC DW/154 Specification for Plastics Ductwork, which is the premier specification for PVC and PP-S ducting.

APMG Plastics has been manufacturing multi-dimensional products using a wide range of thermoplastic sheet materials for several decades. With this level of experience, our team is uniquely placed to guide you to the correct fan for your specification. Contact us to speak to our friendly team about your project.
