Enhanced Access Fume Cupboard
APMG has developed a safe, compliant fume cupboard designed to meet the needs of wheelchair users. It easily accommodates wheelchair access. Based on the proven Airform walk-in design, the Enhanced Access fume cupboard includes an adjustable height working level and an automatic sash.
Enhanced Access fume cupboard
The fume cupboard working level is adjustable between 700 mm and 900 mm high. This offers flexibility depending on the height and size of wheelchair. It can be raised or lowered electronically using a one-touch control. The sash is also electronically operated.
We can add in an energy efficient movement sensor too. This automatically lowers the sash when no movement has been detected in a user selectable time frame (1 to 5 mins).
If movement is detected the sash remains in position unless manually adjusted using the up and down controls. If no movement is detected over the time frame, the sash automatically moves to the lowered position.
The worktop can be fitted with our standard range of fume cupboard sinks and drip cups.
We manufacture our products on-site here in Manchester. Therefore, if you need further modifications to facilitate access you can discuss them with our friendly technical design team. We also offer a range of height adjustable tables. Our tables can incorporate equipment such as hobs and sinks – just contact us to discuss your needs.
Just as with all our fume cupboards, the Enhanced Access range has been type-tested. It fully meets the European fume cupboard standard BS EN 14175 (Part 3: Type test methods).
Fume cupboard fans & ductwork
For our Enhanced Access fume cupboard range we recommend our E-Series or G-Series plastic centrifugal extract fans. We can guide you to the correct solution, depending on the application and venting arrangements. Contact us for more information on this and on our corrosion-resistant ductwork.
Stay safe – Service & maintenance
We provide full service and maintenance packages for our Airform fume cupboards, and for most other makes and models of fume cupboard.
COSHH regulations require that fume cupboards should be tested at least every 14 months.
During our servicing visit highly trained, DBS-checked test engineers ensure that each fume cupboard, fume extract system and fan is completely fit for purpose. They test to BS EN 14175 and CLEAPSS G9 as appropriate. Contact us for details.
Fume cupboard type-testing
APMG has both the in-house expertise and the cutting-edge testing rig to check the containment performance of almost any make and model of fume cupboard.
Our equipment is designed to exceed the type-testing criteria specified in BS EN 14175. As a result, you have added assurance that our fume cupboards perform to the recommended standard. We can also test on-site at your location.
